Hi,

is there any chance of a cheaper tyre being used for the v8 formula?

as avons are getting far to expensive, surely there is an alternative tyre to use.

I was just interested to hear peoples veiws of the drivers meeting at Bovey. Personally i would like to thank

everyone who is helping our formula become more successful.Not only have we got the excellent MR EXCAVATOR

series, with news of a major sponsor i think this and next season? on the cards in British Airways this can only

create a higher profile and poss more drivers for the v8s so well done and thank you to the Ross crew for your

hard work.

Well wasn't yesterday a great day for the V8's all 22 of them. The weather was good & that made for a very good afternoon of fast/close V8 racing. Well done to Peter Scott on winning the English title. It was also good to see Mark (29) out there racing again. He did really well by winning two of the races. BOOKING IN FOR MEETINGS

I have just spoken to Ray at the office in Aldershot and he has said to me that in the future to stop our formula missing out on meetings. We as a collective group of drivers like everyone else have got to book in for the meetings TWO weeks in advance. This will be Better for them as so they can organize programmes and pit space in advance. Unfortunatly only 5 or 6 drivers had booked in and deane could not have that many cars racing around Ipswich.

We are not the only formula this applies to ...

I was just wondering why do all the V8's except Peter Scott jr car have such large aerofoils. Jr used to have a large aerofoil on his last car, but his new (ex Bill Chance) car which did have a large aerofoil when Bill drove it, has now opted to change it to a more like superstox style one. I understand its all to do with downforce & helping the car take the corners better at speed, but jr don't even have off set side fins. Jr didn't seem any slower than the rest of the V8's, so I ...

Are meetings now over too quick?

Does anyone agree with me that meetings are now turned around too quickly? If you put yourselves in the position of travelling 3/4 hours to get to a meeting and then get some damage in the first race, the races are turned around so quick now that there isn't enough time between races to repair the damage. This must be the case with all the formula's, not just the V8s. Also, there is no longer an interval midway through the meeting.

Do you agree or disagree?

Hi All

I'm really looking forward to this sunday's meeting at Aldershot. I look forward to the V8's thundering around the track, whilst being only a few feet away on the other side of the fence. I think the V8's will love the new track. The two different bends though may be interesting though. One nice fast sweeping bend, then there's the tight one, which might prove interesting. So who's coming out to play. Lets hope we get a good size field & lets make this first meeting at Aldershot ...

INJURED DRIVERS FUND

Just posting this as an idea for supporting drivers such as Nigel Trench who was badly injured at Ipswich and is probably in need of some support financially,but there have been other not so serious incidents where drivers have been unable to work and earn afterwards.The fund could possibly be built by driver subscription (eg: �5 per driver per meeting).

As I said this is only a suggestion and I would welcome any comments from others (I might have left myself open to abuse here)

IPSWICH ABANDONED

Was there a specific reason why the rest of the meeting was abandoned? I know at times when incidents like these happen that they become priority but when it was seen that Nigel was apparently OK and then went to hospital, why couldn't some part of the remainder of the meeting take place. Drivers and spectators spend quite a bit travelling to meetings.

Hi

Just got in from the Bovey meeting & would like to say that the V8's were fantastic. The sun was out, the track was dry & the V8's were lightning up there tyres. Well done to all drivers out there for putting on a good performance. Glad to see also that Simon Turner got out ok after his crash where he ended up on top of the safety fence, with a very flaterned aero foil. Hopefully now this is the start of another good exciting season.

V8 Drivers List For Bovey

Hi

I was just wondering is there a drivers list anywhere for the V8's for there Bovey meeting this sunday. I haven't seen one on Spedeworth website yet.

I also hope it stays dry so that we can see the V8's at there best with the smell of burning rubber & blue smoke coming of those back tyres & hopefully silence the doubters. We haven't had a chance yet this season to see the V8's at there best.

Anyway lets have a good meeting & everyone stay safe.
