Maurice sullivan has three cars Exclamation
Peter Ross has three cars (1 for sale,2 were used at Aldershot Smile ) so well done to him for that. 07919 051112
Peter Blooooomfielf has three cars ( 2 were being used at Aldershot Smile well done also.
Dave Arnold is rumored to have few cars ( are they for sale? )
The Burtons have three maybe four cars ( they are for sale ) 07961-706760
Alan Gray has a car for sale. 07985 - 206189

If anyone has a car nearly ready but needs some bits, Big Nige is trying to sell his pits and bobs give hinm a call.

if anyone knows any others add them to the list. Also if you know any diffrent please amend accordingly. [b]If you want to buy a car or thinking about it go for it you won't regret it.

so anybody looking for a new car there are loads about to buy and they arnt expensive to race either. all this nonsense about needing a doug nash gearbox to be on the pace are rubbish. i dont run one and neither does my dad.and at the moment im 3rd in the points.

Hi

I will be back for Ipswich and all the remaining fixtures.
My currant car will be sold at the end of the season ,it wont be complete but will be a good project for a newcomer to the sport as it is a strong stock car and will be very cheap to help someone to start up hopefully.
I am not packing up as i will be campaigning a new car for next year as i have every faith that this formula will go from strength to strength from now on so keep the faith and very well done to those who raced at Aldershot, i took some first timers along and they were blown away by the racing, that top bend banking shakes when the pack comes past, Awesome!
See you soon especially as i can talk again. Dentist, hospital ,dentist, hospital in that order!! What a Face affraid

Post  mjg on Tue Aug 18, 2009 8:04 am

Hi All.

Another entertaining meeting. I thought Robert George done well as a 1st timer & Colin Goodswen is certainly going well at the moment. Well done to all.

Gutted I won't be able to go to Ipswich, I will be in a Formula 1 power boat that day.

Hope you all have a good meeting!

Regards to all..

Hi guys got to agree with simon I don't run a doug nash gear box and im not that far off the pace. A V8 stock car is only as expensive as you want it to be. Things like beam axles and cf gear boxes keep cost down if you want to race on a budget like i do.

Who knows of any cars laying around.

Hi Brad.

The power boat experience is a birthday present. As well as being thrown around in it, I will get to drive it for a couple of laps. Numerous changes of underwear might be required, but it should be a good experience though!

Some good & valid points about costs & racing on a budget. Most of you are not that far behind the top boys (My Laps), so it proves you can be competitive & on a budget.

Regards..

so what is stopping people having a go?? i dont see how people can afford to throw money at a 2 litre engined car an not on a v8. v8s are easy to work on, easy for parts, cheap on parts too, and you have all the power to play with. Cool

I think the only thing stopping people at the moment is the doubt about the future, but as i keep telling them it has overall been a good season when a few times we had over 20 cars and when we do this on a regular basis we will probably get more meetings and drivers coming in.
I wish though we could have at least one Brafield as im sure we would attract a few more drivers from the region especially the Oxford area where i know at least three people are looking at the v8s at the moment and im sure would be swayed by meets at this venue, but thats out of our hands.
We are Getting a following at Aldershot though as alot of people were very excited every time the v8s were on on sunday.
See you at Ipswich

The other problem i see is that the v8 stock cars are always racing with lalalalal formulas. Why can't we be on with the superstox more or the mini stocks. The minis would be the ideal formula because maybe we would catch one or two drivers when they hit 16 !, Putting us on with non-contact formulas are all well and good but no hot dog racing wannna be is going to change over to our formula from these because its diffrent kettle of fish. and anyone with a hot rod would not give us a second glance were "just there to make the meeting longer"

Again a 2ltr pinto power car is in my opinion a waste of money! But they are the " chosen ones " with all the support from the promoters the best meeting dates. Even when they were going through a difficult patch the promoter back then stuck by them and look what has happend now.

I totally agree about the naff formulas which are put with the V8's. As a spectator you only see 3 good races in a meeting which are from the V8's.

I also saw that the Ahern company on the homepage.
Does this mean they could do a series?

The Ahern logo on the homepage is just that, the Ahern logo. Nothing more.

Do the V8's have a series next year?
It would help the formula.

There are some interesting debates going on at the moment, " oval racing forum" & a comment by Paul Huggett in Short Curcuit magazine about grid sizes,( too big ).

The rumours that still persist (hopefully untrue) won't encourage anyone from another formula to move into the V8's. Until the promoters start sounding a bit more up beat & stop bleeting on about their moronic bangers, certain formulas will struggle.

Why would Maurice Sullivan have 3 cars? I have only seen him race once in 2 seasons!

Regards.
