Directory

Post  bobdernob2 on Sat Nov 28, 2009 7:22 am

Would it be possible to form a directory of sorts to help with locating parts, tyres etc. just a thought but if we could source the cheapest or best place to get bits it could help anyone getting into the formula as well as anyone else having difficulties finding items.
For instance is Realsteel the best place to get v8 bits or does anyone know a better place? also who would be the best to ask about setup etc.
Just a thought perhaps they could be listed in a newsletter or something? or listed on the site? even small items like nuts/bolts ,batteries, anything in fact.Wot you think?

Seems Charlie has found a source for spoked wheels. Will try and get the details on here and the site later for those interested.

Just quick one on a serious note, my local Go-Kart shop are building chassis' at competitive prices but may only be good for one race!!! Laughing Laughing

Also if anyone wants good strong wheels at good prices then give Murray Harrison a call...I will hopefully have some with me during next year to show people but i believe they are around the 55 quid mark (Ford 4 Stud pattern) powder coated in Silver or black with a standard back spacing of 4"...You can also add rim strength by having a 6mm solid bar welded to the outside edge or the flat bar similar to Jnr's for a very small additional charge!!! These wheels on come in natural steel finish for obvious reasons...

I will double check these prices with Murray and post on here later this week... I will also check if he can do Sherpa 5 stud pattern and Volvo 5 stud pattern...

I have these wheels on the new car and seem a good solid wheel, i also know that Barry Amos is using these wheels...

rgds, Daryl.

Do you think a seperate category - suppliers/services - would be beneficial? I could do one but I'd obviously need your help in compiling the list & keeping it updated. It's obviously no good if there's only going to be a couple of listings so let me no what your thoughts are. Either send a PM or send an email to v8stockcars@googlemail.com

Hi All,

Finally Spoke to Murray Harrison (Harrison Supplies Ltd.) Who has informed me that he has the following wheels for sale!!!

~ Ford 4 Stud Pattern ~

8" Wide with a Backspacing of 4" powder coated in Silver = 55 inc VAT

5 1/2" Wide with a Backspacing 3 1/4" Powder coated in Silver = 51 inc VAT

Both the above wheels can come with a 6mm solid round bar welded to the outer rim for added strength, these are the same prices as above but they don't come powder coated (Bare Steel).

He can also do any backspacing required but once again they don't come powder coated (Bare Steel).

Murray will look into using centre's from the Volvo or Sherpa but requires the PCD of the studs to find this out...I am looking into this!!!

Regards, Daryl Harris #32
