new to V8s

Post  michael v8 466 on Mon Dec 28, 2009 11:37 pm

Hi just to let you all know I have now purchased a V8 and am now looking forward to getting out on track with you at Aldershot on the 4th April, hope not to get in the way to much.
I have done rookie rods, then superstox and was talking to Mr Scott Junior and was supprised how cheap the running costs were so I have now sold the rookie rod and superstox and everything else worth selling just to get the V8.
I know the initial price is alot but fingers crossed the running costs will be cheaper and the damage alot less as your not always getting fired in the fence or wall and also there seems to be alot more respect for each other as drivers.
Like I said cant wait to get out on track with you all just go easy on me LOL

Hope the test days go all right, i'll have to have a look as the track is only a 15 minute bike ride from my house.

When do the test days start?

Rob are you going to do a couple of testing days?

Welcome to the V8 family. It's always nice to have new blood in a formula. Hope you have as good a time as we have over the years.

Perhaps we should in future send our application forms to someone involved in v8s first ,then forward them on to spedeworth, then we can see what numbers we have registered. It would have to be someone trustworthy so i will go out on a limb and suggest Rosemary Turner to handle them in confidence, then at least we would know what numbers are actually registered. And then perhaps have a drivers list published on the site perhaps with locations and any volunteered information?
Any veiws on this?

There's no reason why Spedeworth can't send a list of registered drivers to the site, plus any additions as and when they register. However, for reasons of their own, Spedeworth don't send anything to the site - they don't even reply to emails.

Sadly, Spedeworth's lack of interest is a major factor in why very few move into this formula. They hardly inspire, and all they do is promote bangers all the time, look at their homepage.

They were quick enough to want 2 V8's at the NEC to promote the Spedeworth banner, but will do diddly sqwitt for the V8's in return. ( my opinion only).

Finally Ray, I'm sure all of your efforts are appreciated by all on here. I know that trying to get a response out of Spedeworth is almost impossible.

Regards.

Hi Rob,
Thank You your comment it is appreciated. I would happily collate a list of drivers, this will obviously only be as comprehensive as the forms I receive.
As you rightly say information would be kept confidential, As many of you know I will not pass on any information without your consent, hence I have often phone a driver asking permission to pass information on or asking them to contact a person.
May I suggest that, if this is wanted, drivers send their applications with their payment to Spedewoth and let me have a photocopy. Drivers will then be able to delete any information they wished on the photocopy
Thanks again
