restrictor plates

Post  skunkworks on Sun Jan 16, 2011 11:28 am

please could someone help me. i have just thought about these restrictor plates, yes it is the early hours of sunday morning. if the holes in the plate are smaller than the butterflies, how will the butterflies turn.do you have to run a spacer plate on top of the restrictor, if so this should be supplied with the plate along with new studs.

From Terry Harris #33,

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the size of these restrictor plates are going to be? (i.e. the size of the 4 holes under the carb). Skunkworks is 110% right in what he's saying and if you use a smaller diameter plate under the carb, the butterflies will definitely jam and now your accelerator is stuck wide open...I am positive this has been the result of accidents in the past...
I would like those whom put this rule forward to prove and test it prior to it going on my car because i don't fancy ending up in the car park at Aldershot or the bar at Wimbledon!!

Regards,

Hi

i have had a reply it reads

"Hi

The restrictor plates will not be enforced until Deane is back.

The points were zeroed as of 26th December, although with the exception of any driver who wins 2 races at any meeting, drivers will retain their grades until further notice.

Hi,

What about the inside weight rule? As i have spent alot of time ,effort & money making my car legal to the new rule, i will not be happy if i turn up at wimbledon and find myself at a disadvantage becouse no one else has done it yet (my car will all of a sudden be a national banger).
I hope im wrong but i feel im probably not confused
