The answer is a difficult one to give. I can only help from my perspective.

283cu , Bedford box in third gear 1.41. And I had a 3.9 diff I think. It was the diff I used to change but I no that its horses for courses because Dennis haris used to run the same diff everywhere. If you have a 350 the gearing may be different. Malc Burton would be able to help I'm sure you have his number.

Sorry boys but I don't know what the gearing is for mine! just run in 2nd gear everywhere , it seems to work even at ippy as managed a win there.
I would ask Mal Burton if you have his no as i don't think he is on here much, and would also depend what diff you run.
Soz not much help as I run with a chevy 3 speed box and Volvo rear axle and havnt a clue on the gearing in it!

Firstly Andy I need to know what ratio is the CF Bedford box? Written on the side plate, looking for the ratio under 3rd gear... Will read either 1:41 or 1:68?

Next what rear axle are you using? Sherpa or Volvo? Also do you know what the current ratio is in the rear axle...

Once you have this info I can help furnish you with a pretty accurate answer...

Regards Daryl...
